International Telemedicine School

The leading innovator and developer in Russia in the area of telemedicine is the Telemedical School organized with the support of the Healthcare department of the Russian Railroad. According to one of the lecturers of the school, Mr. Boris Popov, the main benefit brought by this school is the fact that it introduces new technologies into the medical field every year. What is telemedicine? It is the use of modern telecommunication technologies to serve the interests of medical field. As these technologies advance, so does the telemedicine.
This is the 16th year of the school’s opening. Leading specialists in the field of both medicine and ICT are taking part in the school’s lectures not only from Russia but from other CIS countries. Russia has great potential in the telemedicine field thanks to the country’s diversity and size according to professor Oleg Pyanih from the Harvard University Medical School.
Teaching at Telemedical School takes form in lectures, demonstrations and teleconsulations. Classes will last until June 3rd, on this day students will present their projects to create their own telemedical center. All of the successful presenters will receive their diplomas and will be on their way to improve the quality of medical services using modern technology.
